I'm a writer, role player, gamer, graphics artist and all around techno-geek. I've been gaming for as long as I can remember - somewhere around 25 years experience. And most of that has been as the game master. Mostly D&D through its various incarnations, but I've also played GURPS, Traveler, Battle Tech, Paranoia, Morrow Project, Twilight 2000, Star Trek, Gamma World and many others.
My gaming group had several people in it that work for Wizards of the Coast (or have in the past). As a group, we had done play testing for Wizards and our names were in the Playtesters Section of the earliest set of the 3E Dungeons and Dragons books.
When I run a campaign, I do things a little differently. I like to mix lots of "special effects" in with my gaming. At the most basic level, this is just pictures of things the characters see. However, over the last couple of years, I've incorporated the computer and my special gaming effects now include sound effects, animations and props. I like to get the players "into" the game as much as possible. At the beginning of each session, I give the players a short presentation (either a well built PowerPoint presentation or an animated multimedia movie) which summarizes what they did in the last session. This reminds everyone where we left of and gets the players psyched up for the session. A lot of the players have really grown to love those session summary presentations.
I am particularly interested in getting my hands on "classic" AD&D materials. Modules, books, whatever. I'm talking about the really old stuff - the nostalgia of gaming in the early years - stuff like Caves of Chaos, the Isle of Woe, Into the Unknown, Beyond the Crystal Cave, the original boxed Basic Set of Dungeons and Dragons, really old DRAGON magazines, that sort of thing. If you have any really old AD&D materials and are considering trashing them or selling them, send me an email and I'll make an offer.
Ok, that's enough about me. Go back to the World of Khoras sections and keep browsing. Feel free to send me questions, comments, suggestions, additions, whatever. This site is far from finished and will continue to grow each month. If you see something that you'd like to add detail to, I welcome your input.
