Activating The Gem
Inspired by a painting done by Mark Price. You can see the painting here. This is really
just a scene, not a story.
The Ecology of the Xorn
Originally written as an "Ecology of the Xorn" article for Dragon Magazine.
Written in 1993, as I worked the graveyard shift as a security guard. Ignore the
references to certain Khoras nations. The names didn't have much geographical meaning back
then.
The Codex
Written for a writing class in college. I wish I had a daily planner that could do all
that.
Death Fast
Another one written for college. Death takes a holiday. Written long before "Meet Joe
Black".
Definitions of Honor
Yes, I stole the title from a dragonlance short story. But the rest is original. A sci-fi
war story. Based loosely on a true World War II story. Written and rewritten for a college
writing class.
Escape in 250 Words
My first piece (little more than a writing exercise) done for college. Meta-fiction in the
truest sense. One of these days, I'm going to have to expand this story.
The Rock Candy Incident
This story has everything - candy, exploding pigs and a secret recipe. Inspired by a
tabloid article I saw taped the dorm room next to mine. Swing Hall Room 221, Miami
University, Autumn 1991
Full Circle
When I wrote this short piece, I was thinking specifically of Mrs. Elsner, 5th grade
teacher, Emerson Elementary School, Sidney, Ohio. I hated the bitch.
You're On The Air
A humor story about a radio talk show, a computer and case of whip cream.
Into the Storm
Horror piece. Based on a story I heard at camp a long time ago.
