The City of Orrojek

The City of Orrojek: Capital of Kalimura

The Conclave Defiant sailed into the harbor of the city of Orrojek about twenty days after leaving Asylum. On the docks, they bid Sancho farewell and made their way to the city gates. Because of the technology available in Kalimura and especially in Orrojek, a series of towers built into the city walls carefully controls and monitors who and what enters and exits the city. Standard procedure requires each visitor to the city to be scanned for magic. Wizards are allowed, but not welcome in the city.

The party was allowed to enter with their items only after receiving a stern lecture about their use in the city. Because Martin had recently exhausted his magic on the journey, he had no essence within him and the city guards that scanned him (using methkari crystals) detected nothing. Callister however, no doubt due to his curse, set off the methkari crystals like a wizard school.

Stryfal, through flirting, was invited into the guard's tower. She had a "private conference" with the Captain of that tower and by the time the two came out of the room, Callister was welcomed into the city, though he was also made to wear a yellow badge so that law-abiding citizens could be warned that a wizard was approaching.

The Captain offered his brother's services as the owner of the finest inn in the city. Before the day was over, the party had procured luxury rooms at the Inn of the Seventh Heaven for free. The party took a well earned rest. The following morning, Kramtha learned of a small caravan which was heading south into the Iron Hills. It was leaving from the University later that week. Since the party was headed that direction (the next set of coordinates was in Myria) Kramtha signed the party up as caravan guards.

The caravan left two days later and proceeded to Boris and then into the Iron Hills.
