Physical Description

These aggressive creatures resemble normal crabs, but are bright red with black markings and have bodies one meter across.

Their powerful pincers can snap a sword in two or sever a hand. Erriku tend to gather in groups of 20 to 50 and swarm over prey, attacking in concert.

Geographic Distribution and Habitat

Also known as the Devil crab, Sand Swarmers and the Crimson Scourge, the erriku plague coastal regions, but fortunately they are rare. They are chiefly found in tropical beaches near the equator.

Erriku feed on anything they can catch regardless of size or whether the prey is of the land or sea. Erriku have been known to feed on fishermen, sharks and even beached whales. They are afraid of fire and will not approach it.
