Sharmaudism is an ancient Anquaran religion. It was originally a blend of nature worship, fertility cults, cult brotherhoods, divinations practices and shamanism. The name "sharmaud" is derived from "shau maude" when means "Way of the Elements". However, witht he coming of Karnus in 111CY, order and laws began to mold the worship into a more formal religion. Over the centuries, it has become an organized system of rules, beliefs and rituals.

Sharmaudism is based on the worship of three central gods of equal stature and the elemental realms of Land, Sky and Sea. The mortal world exists where these three realms overlap. Most of these realms are hidden from mortals, however. It is possible to venture into the three "pure" realms. The Realm of Sky is above you and you would need to fly to get there. The Realm of land is beneath your feet and the only way to get there is to dig. The Sea Realm is out there... beyond the crashing waves and one would need to sail forever to reach it.
Drall rules over the Realm of Land. This huge, black skinned, muscle bound god stands 80 feet tall. He wields a stone hammer and a sword of flame. He wears armor fashioned from the scales of the dragons that heat his forge, at the center of his realm, deep in the belly of the world. He is the patron god of farmers, blacksmiths, miners, masons and woodsmen. He is the God of War, Fire, Stone and Steel. He is a stern god, the essence of strength, endurance and inflexibility. Farmers sacrifice animals to him for bountiful crops. Soldiers pray to him for victory in war. Miners mutter his name in oaths and curses.
Nefhani is the Goddess of the Sea. She is beautiful, with sea green hair and pale blue skin. She is passionate, chaotic, playful and pernicious. Sailors pray to her for fair winds and calm seas.Fisherman pray to her for a good haul. Nefhani is the patron deity of all Anquaran woman. She is the goddess of beauty, love, passion and family. Women offer sacrifices to her for love, healthy children, safe families.
Grihalis is the Lord of the Sky. He is a wizened man of great age. His white beard reaches down to his waist. He is dressed in blue, black and grey robes, sprinkled with stars and clouds. He is the patron lord of wizards and philosophers, teachers and historians, writers and poets, artists and dreamers. Birds and insects are his mesangers.
Each realm and deity have their own separate subchurch. These three branches of the Sharmaud church are unique and distinct, but cooperate with each other.
