Jakita is a young god, quick to anger. His emotions are as violent and unpredictable as the winds of a storm. He appears as a young male avarian with blue feathers trimmed with black. His razor sharp beak gleams with a metallic shine and appears to be made of gold. Lightning flashes from his eyes when he is angry and peals of thunder are let loose when he speaks.
According to avarian mysticism, Jakita is the son of Arros and walked the world long ago as a mortal. He was a master of magic and quite powerful. He specialized in what he called storm magic. Priests of this religion state that he drew strength from the clouds, winds, lightning and thunder.
Followers and priests of this religion are known as "Jakitans". Jakitan priests wear blue and grey robes and silver medallions about their neck in the shape of lightning bolts. Worshipers all value storms in some way. Storm mages draw power directly from lightning and wind to replenish their spells. Storm fighters are warriors who hold mock battles amid storm tossed clouds. Some avarian thieves who worship Jakita do their thieving only during storms.
Of course, the church worships storms and storms are considered holy times. Certain rituals and prayers are only performed during storms.
