Kirelia is quiet and conservative. He seldom speaks and speaks little when he does. Kirelia is a master of language, speaks all known languages with complete fluency and has mastered many other forms of communication (Smoke signals, drum rhythms, hand signals, etc). He varies his language according to his listener and does so with ease. For Kirelia, communication and writing are the tools of his magic and the media of knowledge. He believes in peace over war, harmony over discord and unity over separateness.

Kirelia was an avarian scholar, mage and linguist that lived in the turbulent days following the Sundering. He traveled throughout the world on a quest to learn every language. He believed that through language and communication, all races could be brought together in peaceful cultural exchange. He founded the Hall of Words, an organization devoted to knowledge, harmony and teaching and appointed himself the first Grand Master. Students from all over came to him to hear his teachings. After his death, the highest ranking of the scholars began to see visions and commune with an entity that most claim was Kirelia communicating from beyond the grave. They claim he had mastered the language of the dead. The teachings of the masters began to echo with religious fervor and the Hall of Words quickly began to take on the characteristics of the Church. Over the centuries a religion has slowly been built upon the basic philosophies and teachings.

The Hall of Words is the center of this religion and is the only "official" temple, although priests often gather and build small shrines to Kirelia. The Hall of Words tunneled into the top of the tallest mountain in Avar. The temple is a place of worship, learning and fellowship. Part of initiation into this religion is a journey to this sacred place and those who would come here must walk, not fly. It is tradition and is considered to be respectful of Kirelia's wishes. Priests of Kirelia wear red and black robes similar to Kirelia's robe. The runes and glyphs of a Kirelian priest indicate his rank and what languages, knowledge and magic he has mastered..
