Description

Magrada is the wife of Arryl, these two being the first gods in existence. She is the land and all things of the land. Magrada embodies one of the central beliefs of the baenites... that the Baen Desert is the most holy of lands and is, in all ways, the center of the world. She represents not only the desert, but the world and all living creatures of the world. She is life and life giver.

History

Arryl and Magrada has always existed and they will always be. Long ago... long before the baenites roamed the dunes, Magrada gave birth to Takyr and Zhun. Therefore, Magrada is seen by baenites as the grandmother of the entire race. When the baenites descended from the heavens, they did so to worship Magrada and Arryl, the greater gods, and to seek their wisdom.

Religion

Magrada is a large and powerful cult devoted to the land. Only women serve Magrada with rank and so Magrada has only priestesses. These woman aid in bringing food from a reluctant desert and so are held in high esteemby the baenite culture. This church is ruled by the High Priestess, an ancient baenite woman who is said to speak with Magrada directly.
