Description

Vurenga is the wife that Bren'Tarr chose later in life. She is also referred to as the mother of the borrellian race. She embodies a maternal strength that keeps the borrellian families together and going. Physically, she is quite beautiful appearing as a young borrellian woman with long, snow white hair that sweeps in graceful curves down to her thighs. However, she is sometimes depicted as an elderly woman, plump and pleasant in a maternal way. It is said that borrellian woman are the most beautiful women on the planet because they are descended from Vurenga.

History

Vurenga was a member of Bren'Tarr's clan during the great northern pilgrimmage. She was the most beautiful of all the women with long flowing white locks. Bren'Tarr chose her to be his wife. He wed her so that she would not know fear or loneliness again. She bore him many children, all with snowy white locks. As Bren'Tarr taught the borrellians, Vurenga cared for the villagers. It was she that healed the sick and made flavorful the meat and plants that he brought forth from the snowy tundra. Together, these two forged a home from an otherwise inhospitable land. When Bren'Tarr ascended to the clouds, Vurenga went with him. Her children, however, stayed behind. Over the centuries, snow white hair has been interbred into the borrellian race.

Religion

Vurenga has only priestesses. All women worship to some degree. Vurengan priestesses heal the sick, cook meals and tend the gardens. They do so for the entire village in which they dwell. They see all borrellians as brothers and sisters and so all are welcome. Each borrellian village will typically have one Vurengan priestess, but some of the large ones may have two or three. Most priestesses establish small taverns or mead halls to serve as many as they can.
