Description

This militant half dwarf is more stoic and business oriented than most full blooded dwarves. He seems to be full of hate and financial domination is his way of getting revenge upon a world that rejected him. Gorkon has a strong aura of power about him. His cold, unflinching gaze terrifies most people. He walks the world of Khoras often, but always under guise. Some believe that he is the master mind behind some major financial projects and business transactions.

History

Gorkon's history is well known to his followers. The details vary, but the overall story remains the same. Gorkon's church maintains that he began as an unwanted infant, a bastard child between a dwarven father and a human mother. Rejected by both societies, he was orphaned at a very early age. His existence was the essence of poverty. Against unbelievable odds and starting out with nothing, Gorkon used quick thinking and hard work to ruthlessly exploit every opportunity and to make opportunity where he did not find it. Eventually, Gorkon amassed a fortune. He was a master improviser and businessman. Before middle age, he controlled vast resources and an army of employees served him. By the time he was an old man, he controlled whole guilds and was wealthier than kings. His followers and henchmen numbered in the thousands. He had come a long way from that wretched and homeless little boy. Some belief that on his deathbed, he struck a deal with Death and purchased immortality in other realms.

Religion

There are many followers and worshipers of Gorkon. Most business men and shop owners utter the occasional prayer to him. The vast majority of worshipers are human and dwarven. Worship of Gorkon is concentrated in the west. Temples can be found primarily in the Drakkellian Alliance, Uthran, Kalimura, Arkalia and Jannerus. A rare few worshipers study to become priests of Gorkon. These men and women are career- minded opportunists and masters of tactics. They often sacrifice precious items to the lord and master. In return, Gorkon favors them with knowledge of the future, knowledge which aids them in business decisions.
