Ukharan is a stoic warrior who rarely spoke. Above all other things, he valued honor. Ukharan's life and his death served as a model for dwarven behavior in the centuries that followed him.

Ukharan was a legendary warrior who fought and died in the great War of Caverns. As hundreds of dwarves fled, Ukharan held his position and halted the advance of a wave of dythillins, buying enough time for his comrades to close a magical barrier and seal the tunnel through which they escaped. Ukharan was sealed on the other side, with the dythillins. This climactic battle effectively ended the War of Caverns. The barrier became known as Ukharan's Seal and he became a martyr. It is assumed that, since he faced over twenty dythillins alone, that he died. However, Ukharan (or perhaps his shade) has been seen many times throughout history, always on the battle field aiding the dwarves. His faithful declared that because of his sacrifice, he was rewarded by immortality.

Ukharan priests always willingly sacrifice themselves in hopes of martyring themselves as did their god. To sacrifice oneself so that others might live is considered the perfect death and is the goal of every Ukaran priest..
