Description

Tharros is completely evil. She is not a deity of simple, natural death. For her, death is a tool to wield against the world. She feeds off of the fear and suffering of mortals. Tharros is a master of torture, able to cause excruciating pain with the lightest cut of her dagger. But she enjoys a broader form of suffering even more... plague. Her touch inflicts horrible diseases upon any mortal creature and causes plants to wither and die. Death is the inevitable result of her war upon life. However, she does not wish to terminate all life on the planet. No, life must continue so that suffering and death may also go on.

History

Tharros was a young and beautiful Bathynian woman. She was the daughter to a clan lord who caught the eye of a high priest to an evil deity. When she rejected his advances, he inflicted her with a terrible wasting disease. Painful sores covered her body and ravaged her beauty. The village, knowing the cause, refused to help her or attempt to undo the curse in any way. They feared that, by helping her, they might incur the priest’s wrath. Her father hire foreign wizards and herbalists to help her. Other clans sent healers, but they failed. Her own superstitious village tried sending them away, fearing the priest’s return. Despite attempts to reverse it, the priest’s magic was too strong. Death soon eased her pain.

Religion

Priests of Tharros are often outcasts of society, often women accused of witchcraft or adultery. Pain and suffering is their past. Life-long servitude to Tharros is their future. Torture and disease are their weapons of revenge.
