Description

Threll is a headstrong, idealistic warrior. He excels as a warrior, hunter and plains man. He is knowledgeable in the arts of stealth, camouflage, trapping, healing, rune magic and weather sense. However, his one true passion is the obliteration of oppression everywhere. Threll works endlessly toward freeing slaves, waging war upon slavers and slave guilds and righting the wrongs of corrupt governments. Although his intentions are good, Threll is somewhat lacking in certain areas. Threll knows little of tactics and almost always attempts a direct, head on approach to any problem. He also lacks discipline and cannot restrain himself when he witnesses an injustice such as protection rackets, slavery or the like. He is honest to the point of rudeness and cares nothing for social etiquette or protocol. He sees a world that is full of wrong and feels an irrepressible urge to make everything right.

History

According the Threllian priests, the following is the true history of their god and they will cross blades with anyone who dares question it...

Shortly before Bathynia formed into a unified nation, conflicts arose between the Bathynian horse clans and the phellysians to the southwest. (The Bathynians were aware of the phellysians long before the rest of the world). Several border clashes resulted in a large number of Bathynians being taken prisoner. (This was the beginning of tension between the two would-be nations). After a year of imprisonment, one man, Threll, led a bloody revolt. In a climactic battle, he used the slave drivers own barbed sword against him. Threll kept the sword and used it to cut down many phellysians. He led his people back into their home land. The journey was a long one, especially with wounded. The use of an herb help stave off pain and despair. The elements of these incidents form the focus of the religion.

Religion

Priests of Threll imitate their lords ways and his beliefs. They are honest, blunt and direct. Their primary mission is to do away with slavery and all other forms of oppression. They care nothing for etiquette, manners or social "red tape". They act on impulse and rarely plan ahead or use any form of tactics. Quite often, priests of Threll will smoke powerful herbal concoctions to place themselves into euphoric trances in order to "speak to their god". Threllian priests are usually male, but not always. They are excellent warriors and use barbed swords similar to Threll’s.
