In some ways, Uthakra represents the true nature of the ogres, the will to survive and conquer. The ogres believe that sheer force of will can overcome any obstacle and Uthakra represents the perfect model of ogrish behavior in this aspect. Uthakra is the living essence of endurance and will power. He also represents unending patience, an ogre quality which is often overlooked. Ogres will often prayer to Uthakra when imprisoned, facing execution or other unpleasantries asking for guidance and the strength of will to survive. Ogres believe that Uthakra is watching them always, weighing their actions and listening to their prayers. If an ogre shows strength in the face of adversity, Uthakra is pleased.

Uthakran priests are fond of telling the story of an ogre prisoner who, after twenty years of prison, was given a choice between admitting to a crime he did not commit and going free or continuing to declare his innocence and face another twenty years in prison. The prisoner choice to remain in his cell, honor intact. When asked why, he replied : " Because... Uthakra is watching".
The religion of Uthakra is not a formal or rigid system of ritual and protocol. Rather, individual priests wander the world holding impromptu ceremonies in ogre villages, on battlefields and anywhere else where ogres work and live. They are healers, spiritual leaders and mentors to any who need them. Only ogres may be priests of Uthakra as it is a very race-oriented faith and most worshipers are ogre or half-ogre.
