Description

Aksira is depicted as a huge and shapeless monstrosity ... a mountain of amorphous scale-covered reptilian flesh bearing snapping jaws, horns, tentacles, writhing tails and other deformed protrusions. This nightmarish beast is the saurian god of death. He is an evil god that hungers for the lives of saurians and devours their souls when they finally cross death's door and enter his realm. He is the predator that stalks saurians throughout their lives. It is because of this god that saurians strive to live life to the fullest. It is this god that drives the saurians to live recklessly and passionately.

Aksira is the ruler of the realm of death and keeper of the dead. He is more than god of death, he IS the realm of the dead. For as long as the saurians have existed, they have feared and worshiped Aksira. Whenever a saurian dies, Aksira feasts on the soul and that saurian becomes part of Aksira. In this way, Aksira is constantly growing, adding the souls of saurians to its bulk.

Religion

Only one temple to Aksira exists. It is a dark and foul place buried deep in the Barakose Swamp. The central structure of this temple is actually the enormous shell of a long dead gumric. The huge skull of the gumric hangs above the main entrance. Piles of bones and skulls surround the place. Skeletal remains are hung on the trees nearby as a warning to all as if to say " This is the realm of Death. Turn back."

Aksiran priests are always saurian and always male. They wear skulls on their heads and black robes decorated with bones. They fight with serrated swords or clubs with hooks. These weapons are always fashioned from bone. Priests of Aksira are said to be able to steal the soul from a living creature by simply looking at it. For this and other reasons, Aksiran priests are greatly feared.
