Skull Quest 1 - The Castle, Level 2

2/1 - Gatehouse

Many containers of war oil, boiling water, cauldron, several large stones, small fireplace, bag of white sand. Two heavy crossbows on wall, bolts

Two undead skeletons stand guard here. Each is armed with a heavy crossbow.

The bag of white sand detects as magical. When placed in water, it superheats the water. This is used to rapidly create boiling water which can then be poured through the murder holes into the entry way below.

2/2 - Guard Room

Arrow slits facing outward. 2 bows, 2 crossbows, extra bowstrings, arrows and bolts.

2 skeletons armed with heavy crossbows and swords.

2/3 - Armory

Various weapons, varying conditions.

Locked, wizard locked, iron door.

2/4-6 - Barracks

The barracks are home to a variety of goblins, orcish soldiers and human brigands. There may or may not be a few resting when the players arrive. This will also depend on whether the players have maintained stealth or not.

2/7 - Bathing Hall

A large pool fills this chamber with reflected shimmering light. Around the pool there is a plush carpet.

In this room can be found: towels, buckets, lye soap, robes, soft bristled brush.

2/8 - Servants Quarters

Cots, table, chairs. Poverty conditions. One young red headed woman is here tending over another woman (sick in bed, fever, delirious). The redhead will shout for the guards if she sees unfamiliar faces.

2/9 - Storage

A small oddly shaped room filled with crates, bags, boxes and barrels. Musty smell. Dust and cobwebs.

Blankets, pouches, bags, candles, oil, rope, cloth, leather, string, quills, parchment, etc.

2/10 - Special Servants Quarter

Larger beds, large table, four chairs.

In this chamber originally dwelt tailors, sewers, weavers, shoemakers and other craftsmen.

2/11 - Garment Workshop

This chamber is filled with bolts of cloth, wide strips of leather, iron rings, string, thread, pliers, large shears,

Several people working here.

2/12 - Hall of Feasting

From beyond this wall can be heard the sounds of drums, dancing, chanting and cheering.

This huge room is almost 75' long and half that wide. It is filled with tables, benches, chairs and stools scattered about haphazardly. Great scenes of debauchery are painted on the walls. A great fireplace is in the corner.

Setup A - A group of ogres, orcs, goblins and humans and beating weapons on shields, beating drums and chanting. There are being led by one ogre in heavy plate armor. He is giving a short speech to them. "It is almost time. Our dark father calls us to him to discuss the Artifact. We are the Chosen. To us has fallen a relic of unspeakable power. All will be told in time".

2/13 - Kitchen

A large kitchen filled with a disarray of dirty pots, pans and huge mixing bowls. A massive cauldron dominates the center of the room. The floor and counters are grimy and stained. Buckets and rags litter the floor. In the back corner are two small cots and blankets. A large spice rack hangs on the wall.

A half ogre is eating a large bowl of meat and potato stew here. He is the assistant cook. Off duty.

2/14 - Food Storage

This room is filled with salted meat, moldy bread, packages wrapped in wax paper and more. Several rat traps litter the floor.

2/15-17 - Barracks

6 large cots, 6 chests, 1 chest of drawers, 1 table and four chairs. Two men sleeping.

These three barracks rooms house the heavy footmen. All are heavily armed and armored human warriors, loyal followers of Damerik. Their primary duty these days is to guard the halls of this ancient fortress as Damerik rebuilds it. They operate in two man teams and guard in shifts. There will be one two man team asleep in each room.
