This unusual tree is a rare beauty that stands out. It is a slender tree that rarely exceeds 10 meters in height and is never more than meter circumference around its thickets part. It is notable for it's smooth bark which is as white as snow. It is adorned with thousands of small, silvery, semi-transparent leaves that glitter in the sunlight and flicker in the wind. It produces clusters of brilliant pale pink flowers in spring followed by long lasting bright blue berries in the fall that attract birds. When cut, the wood exudes a sticky resin that has a pleasing scent.
This tree is no unusual physical properties.
Ghost trees are native to the Kingdom of Anquar and western Qeshir.
A ghost tree features prominently on the coat of arms of the Dreyus family crest (holders of the Talisman of Dreams for generations) and the tree is closely associated with that noble family.
When King Dalmoran usurped the Anquaran throne some two centuries ago, he ordered all ghost trees to be destroyed because of its link to the Dreyus family. There are now no ghost trees within Anquar and the few remaining specimens are found only deep in the woods. The ghost tree has become exceedingly rare.
To scholars, the ghost tree is known by the name cylani.
