QuoteWe've also been promised a new character creation generator by the owner of exodus, Joshua is also a busy man though so it may take awhile for us to get it.

Errr ... that might be my fault .. I really should sit down and figure out how to tie the code in to the character database. Maybe when I'm not so busy.

Lance

Much thanks Spence. Though I never said I would have had much problem creating a character. It was more along the lines of the complexity of creating a character in the 3.5 ruleset (or in any ruleset for that matter.) I could have definitely finished a character and been ready to play in a little time, but roleplaying in a chat setting has never really been my thing. Not to say that I won't register and give it a go some day, but my thing is more along the lines of longer RP's and more freedom for the PC to come up with there own adventures. I might get with you sometime and discuss some of the stuff about Dathkandra, since I've never "actually" roleplayed in a fantasy setting before. '

I have more to say, but alas, I have to look over summer courses (everyone who hates/hated college raise their hands) before el girlfriendo has my heado.

I should say a bit more later tonight.

Spence

Ahh...we've had a bunch of complaints about how making PC's on Dath is too tough so people dont bother, i thought that's what you had meant.

tanis

Yeah, I don't remember all the stats, and how they're figured out, so I would need some help with the character creator.
He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster. And if you gaze long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.

Yes, that's what I meant, but for that system it may be best to keep it like that. My idea is to make things slightly more simple, and base almost everything off of the person's writing ability. There will be stats, of course, but those stats will be more like guidelines as to what a person can accomplish in an RP. No dice rolling of any kind. After and PC completes a quest then it will be judged by a GM and awards and exp. will be handed out in that fashion, or at least that is how I'm hoping it will work. ;)

P.S. Also if you ever wish to talk via MSN or something along those lines, I'm pretty much always on late at night. Which is from 9-10 Central time to whatever time I end up going to bed.

tanis

Now THAT'S what I've been talking about. Like Mr. Roomes' rating system.
He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster. And if you gaze long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.

What exactly do you mean Tanis? I'm rather confused.

   3. Government
   4. Legal System: A fair, yet ruthless, legal system is what keeps the crime level low in Perecho Heights. Lady Bertram herself sometimes presides over the preceding.
   5. Military: With the rampant orc, ogre, and bandit problems plaguing the nation as a whole. Perecho Heights has it's own militia consisting of a few hundred men at all times. Due the possibility of a large scale crisis happening, by law all male citizens of age,  are required to participate in militia training at least twice a year. If this law is not followed then penalty is possible jail time or a required stint in the standing militia.
   6. Economy: An ever flowing amount of trade keeps the economy of Perecho Heights strong. It never really stops, even during the winter a trickle of die hard traders come from the War Vale and further beyond.

  13. Government and Public Establishments:
A. The Guard House:  A large wooden structure that sits near the center of the town. All Guard activities start here, including training, recruiting, patrolling, etc.
  14. City Guard: The City Guard of Perecho consists of fifty well armed guards. They patrol in groups of three and are armed in plate mail and use halberds to keep the citizens in check.
  15. Underworld: Despite Perecho Heights relatively small size, it sports an extensive smuggling operation, that extends to many branches of the local government. This allows it to remain hidden from the people would attempt to harm it.
  16. Temples and Shrines
  17. Unique City Features
  18. Important People of Perecho Heights
  19. Inns and Taverns
  20. Shops and Guilds

Hooktook's Thunder: Orcs and Ogre's live outside of town in a small community. Mostly peaceful, despite their generally violent nature.

There will be a pretty basic stat system for this game. This is because the stats only tell the person's abilities and personality. There isn't dice rolling or anything along those lines. It's based primarily off of the roleplayers writing ability. The stats of a chracter will also change depending on the class they choose, but that will come later.

After choosing their race and class PC's will be given 25 points to distribute wherever they want to on their character.

Human Beginning Stats:
Strength: 8
Dexterity: 8
Constitution: 8
Intelligence: 8
Wisdom: 8
Charisma: 8

Elves Beginning Stats:
Strength:5
Dexterity: 10
Constitution: 5
Intelligence: 9
Wisdom: 9
Charisma: 10

Dwarves Beginning Stats:
Strength: 11
Dexterity: 8
Constitution: 10
Intelligence: 6
Wisdom: 8
Charisma: 5

Grum Beginning Stats:
Strength: 5
Dexterity: 12
Constitution: 5
Intelligence: 8
Wisdom: 8
Charisma: 10

Example: Human

25  Starting Points

Strength: 12
Dexterity: 13
Constitution: 9
Intelligence: 13
Wisdom: 13
Charisma: 13

Spence

the languages of the city should be easy, what i recommend is the local Human language (since that's the highest percentage), Elven and Dwarven, the three most common races so to speak.

Since they're using Rukemian currency and they're right there, languages i'd suggest:  Rukemian (primary), Common Dwarven and Eastern Elven.

Hope that helps with that part abit.

With the religion, that really depends on what flavor you're looking to add.

Well, if you look at one of David's posts, you'll see that he has a XP system based solely on roleplaying for the session.
He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster. And if you gaze long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.

Nope... Havn't died, and I havn't given up on this either. Just reallly busy putting in the hours so I can pay for school coming up in Sept. Look for a little progress to be done eventually. The update you did on the Ormek will help out quite a bit. Thanks Dave. Anything about the history of Ormek and anything involving it is alwaysa appreciated.

avisarr

I'll take a look through my notes and see if there's anything for Ormek that should be uploaded. History or anything else...

Lance

Update everyone, check it out, I just modified my last update post. So scroll up and tell me what you think. More will come later as usual.

Lance

Well everyone, I actually have a real website for Perecho Heights up. Now I know it looks terrible right now, but I'm hoping once I get home and have a little editing software to mess with. I might be able to make it look a little better. This is also my very first try at something like this, so any help that is offered is appreciated. I will continue to make updates here though. Since a little more traffic comes through this site.

Aye, and I'll find a better place for the Khoras Banner later.

tanis
