Gaming Tales / Session 01
January 22, 2009, 10:57:07 PM
In the year 2563 at magereign's end, four members of a traveling party and their guide gathered at the edge of the snowy timber, the party is as follows

Kra-yiax - Myren saurian fire-mage
Trassar - half orc fighter, ex-Selari knight squire
Kara - Kitarian (human) ranger
Urag - Karthasian Assassin/alchemist
Flint - Dwarven heavy archer

The party begins their journey through he frosted stands in single file their guide a human ranger known as Kara leading. The party heads east for a few days, until they finally come across a weathered stone pillar, and a sone road now overgrown with weeds. to the north they can see ruined walls and parapets, against the suggestions of their guide they decide to explore the ruins, only to find up ahead a large group of miners with only a few dozen guards (flying the rukemian colors) before they can make conversation or are even noticed by the soldiers, the sun goes down. one of the miners swings his pickaxe hard and breaks through to the underground cavern, instantly a snakelike creature emerges from the gaping hole, composed of only greenish mist it begins to slaughter everyone in the camp (excluding the party) by surrounding and incinerating it's victims. a few horsemen begin to flee from the dig site with the mist-beast trailing behind.

The party waits for a while in stunned horror. after a quick meeting they reason it is safer to venture into the ruins, since the creature is outside. soon after dropping into a dusty entrance hall they are attacked by a group of eight rat-like creatures, Trassar recognizes them as skrell from his home country of the coalition. Kara failed to bring her bow out in time, Flint (being paranoid) always had his crossbow loaded and managed to hit a skell in the knee just as it jumped. the rest of the party drew their weapons and attacked Trassar delivered a deathblow to one with his battle-ax, Urag began a knife fight with against two and Kra-yiax began to hurl fireballs at the attackers.
The battle ended when seven of the eight fell leaving only the one that Flint wounded was still alive. they decided to keep it around to help them if they needed a way through the ruins (the fall was too great to jump and the walls to slippery to climb).

the session ended here because a lot of them had stuff planned.
And I need feedback on how good this was.

Completed / Lesser race's interbreeding
January 12, 2009, 06:38:49 PM
The title is pretty self-explanatory, but would it be possible to have a interbreeding chart that also includes the lesser races?

General Discussion and Questions / Other creatures
January 10, 2009, 05:57:25 PM
Hey david I noticed that in the city of Hearthtown there is an inn called the steel gryphon, the campaign notes of the Jaidor talisman have a reference to an Otyugh, there are tales of vampires in certain ruins, and in the original Avisarr campaign the party were attacked by Vargouille. this is an indication that there are other "fantasy" creatures within Khoras, so the main question is are all other fantasy creatures included in khoras, or only a few select ones?

Miscellaneous / Forging the Bloodshard (story)
January 02, 2009, 07:19:09 PM
I would tell you who I am, but I don't know. I would tell you how long it has been since the doors of this hateful place closed behind me, but time is nothing here, where night and day are only memories. All that I know is that because of the dark tasks that I must perform are merely a part of the creation of a monstrosity that will ravage the Drakkellian Alliance and make way for my masters, whoever they are to rise from the remains, that I know, I know it as certainly as the collar that is bound to my neck.
I the alchemist know that each time I wake, I will find the a basin filled to the brim with blood and a slave, skeletally thin yet somehow alive by some dark magic that sustains it's life-force in the husk of a body drained of blood. and that each time I must draw iron from the blood, a small chunk of pure metal that now holds the life, spirit and will of that poor slave. Each piece of iron added to the blade, hundreds of souls mixed and molded together. and as its dark edge grows, so too does the magic that is imbued into the sword. warriors, mages, political rivals, all who oppose my masters disappear, their blood and souls into a sword, forged deep in the earth beyond knowledge of any who bother to look.

General Discussion and Questions / Duthelm
December 24, 2008, 07:40:00 PM
In the history of Duthelm (how is that pronounced anyway?) it was said that Duthelm was once part of the empire that contains Rukemia, Ormek and Kitar however it seems as though Duthhelm has military and magical equality (with a slight superiority) to all three of these countries put together (even after considering factors such as the orichalium mines) example: a group of Duthelm soldiers can slaughter a group of Kitarian soldiers. and the black sorcerers seem to have more "True" mages than the other three countries put together. And they have a large amount of soldiers that bear magical arms.

was this intentional and if so, why?
