Steve just pointed out to me that the Khoras forum is sitting at 999 posts and the next would be the 1000th. So, here it is. I'm taking the opportunity to make it. The Khoras Forum officially has 1000 posts! Yeah! Another milestone. Thanks to everyone who is participating in the forum and contributing such great topics and conversation. All of you make this forum great.
Also, I just realized... Khoras is coming up on its 10 year anniversary. I'll have to look up the exact date, but as of May 2007, Khoras will have been online for a decade. More on this later...

What kind of a prize? Trivia contests and such could be fun. Hmmm Really hard trivia questions from Khoras? I once tried to stump Mark with a few trivia questions, but he surprised me with how well he did. I'm not sure what I could possibly give as prizes... maybe free color prints of the various maps, maybe name something in the world after you, that sort of thing...
Is this post 300 for me? :) It's at least 300.
By the way, sorry to everyone and anyone that's been waiting for me to finish the city map of Tykron. January and February have just been bad months. Too busy. Real life intruding. "City Map of Tykron" has been on my to do list for too long and it's sitting half finished in the computer. I hate that. But I will finish it. That's a promise.
yeah that would be cool naming something or someone "offically" or the color prints. i could even offer for the first one

My friends, Steve and Mark, have both recently pointed out the approaching 10 year anniversary of Khoras, but I looked up the records and checked. And it's the 10 year anniversary... sort of. It depends on where you start counting.
Khoras was registered as its own domain name (www.khoras.net) on April 16, 1998. However, it was online in an earlier form as early as May of 1997. (I'm looking through old records to find out the exact date, but I think it was May 24th, 1997).
I've been thinking about it and the earlier form of Khoras was quite crude and the "world" was actually a subset of another site which involved all my interests. It was Mark that talked me into giving Khoras its own permanent and dedicated domain name site. So, kudos to Mark!
Anyway, when I officially registered Khoras with its own domain name, it underwent a major restructuring and redesign which resulted in the current format you see today. As far as I'm concerned, that's when Khoras truly came into focus and officially "began". Therefore, I'm declaring the official start of Khoras as April 16, 1998. And the 10 Year anniversary will be April 16, 2008. (You can verify those dates by doing a WHOIS search on khoras.net).
Which works out rather nicely because that gives us time to properly prepare. I'd like to get the site cleaned up and in proper order for its 10 year birthday. :) Anyway, this is probably more info than anyone cares about, but I did want to set the record straight. So that's it - April 16, 2008 is the 10 Year Anniversary.
I think we'll have a party... :)
