I was just wondering if there is magic in Khoras and even dark magic. Is there actually undead or wizards with necromantic powers? because i looked in the races and i just expected there to be skeletons, ghouls, ghosts, walking dead or even vampires? I was just wondering because it would be pretty good to have undead in the races.
I think undead are not classified in Khoras as a race (lesser or greater) because they are not able to reproduce themselves. They are just "creatures".
There are skeletons or walking deads but they have to be magically sumoned, awake or "ingeniered".
In Stovikar page : Targrum Ortuss
An Ormekian nobleman that lives on an estate on the edge of Stovikar. He is fascinated by death, the body and undead. He is a practicing necromancer. He frequently robs graveyards, and has a collection of over 70,000 bones, body parts and full skeletons in the dungeons beneath his estate.
Concerning vampires, it seems to me that there is no such creature in Khoras.
Undead are not a race. They are a "creature". Just as Delbareth said. Traditionally, in D&D and in other games, skeletons and zombies and other undead are either created by evil wizards, necromancers and such. Or, more rarely, there are created by some dark force, or dark deity or whatever. But almost always they are summoned or created or are the effect of some kind of magic.
I don't think I've listed undead in the fauna section, but that doesn't mean they aren't on Khoras. Khoras definitely has undead. I use skeletons and zombies all the time in adventures. And you will find many references to undead scattered throughout Khoras.
The beginning of the fauna and flora section states that it's not a comprehensive list. It's just a sampling of fauna and flora. You can be assured that there are many hundreds, even thousands, of plants and animals and monsters and creatures that are in Khoras that aren't listed. Trolls, dragons, orcs, giants - these are listed. But unicorns, vampires, leprechauns, wyverns, carrion crawlers, liches, spectres? They aren't listed, but you can have them all in Khoras. It's a big world and there's plenty of room. Feel free to add in whatever you need. If you WANT to have an adventure that features a vampire, go ahead. Absolutely! Don't limit yourself to what's on the site. Use it as a foundation, but add in what you need. I'll say it again... it's a big world and there are many gaps waiting to be filled in.
Oh, and regarding "dark magic" - well, that's a bit vague. But yes, I would say that Khoras has dark magic. Definitely. There are evil priests, necromancers, dark lords of the Abyss, evil cults, haunted towers, orcish shamans, goblyn magic, spirit magic, blood magic and so on - all kinds of things that could be considered "dark magic".
