Title: AVATAR
Post by: avisarr on January 03, 2010, 11:13:43 PM
It's already been out for more than a week in most countries... but for those of you who have NOT yet seen James Cameron's new movie, AVATAR, I highly recommend it. This is one of those once-in-a-generation films... like Star Wars. It sets a new standard in film. It's really that good. I've been looking forward to it for about a year now and when I finally saw it, it surpassed even my very high expectations.

So, that's all. Just wanted to recommend a very good movie. It is definitely worth the time and money. Also, this is one of those films that needs to be seen on the big screen, in 3D. Don't wait for it on DVD. Definitely see it in a theatre.

Yeah, I'm trying to get my girlfriend to go with me. She has to take care of her toddler siblings a lot, so she doesn't have a ton of free time. But first chance I get, I'm booking it over to the theater. ^D^d

I think the movie was visually stunning. The story, on the other hand, was not up to par with other Cameron films. I definitely recommend this movie for the visual effects, just don't expect too much of a story line.

That's what I've been hearing. Pity.

I agree. They "played it safe" with the plot. Maybe because they had so much riding on the film they couldn't afford to take chances with a more complex or interesting storyline. I can think of several things in the story I would have changed. But it's still a milestone in visual effects and a rollercoaster of an action film.
