I have just finished to read the Jaidor Talisman Campaign, and I have some question about the Desolation.
First of all, I don't want to make some revelaaaaaaaaaations about the Desolation :-X. So I recommend to read the campaign notes previously. For the others, my question deals with the link between the beginning of the aberrations in the Desolation and the Jaidor Talisman. It seems to me that it would be an unprobable coincidence that Morphian put their Talisman in what will become one of the most dangerous area of the world, if this two events are not related. It's not clearly explain in the campaign notes (or perhaps I missed something), and I would like to know more about this. It is obvious that the "morphian/flesh god" creates some monsters, but these monsters are different than the surface monsters (they are morphian-like). So, what is the beginning of the problems, when Shidarian miners began to open the sealed Morgoth's chambers?

It seems to me that you write on the site all that is known to some people, and not what is the reality. Maybe you don't want to put this on the site because nobody knows the real reason of the Desolation aberrations. Am I completely wrong? ???

You mentioned that it would be an improbable coincidence that the morphians happened to choose a location which would later become a very dangerous region. However, as you suspected, these two events ARE related.

The morphians took the Jaidor Talisman to that remote peninsula and buried it beneath the Shidaran ruins. In so doing, they set in motion a chain of events that resulted in the birth of the Horde and all of the socio-political events that followed including the building of Garreon's Wall, religious contamination of Chaddamar and more.

The Jaidor Talisman notes outline only what happened in the campaign. However, there's much that is missing. To get a more complete picture, you should read the Chaddamar Theocracy page (particularly the history section) and the Shidar page in the Ruins section. Those two pages have a lot more info.

Having just reread those 2 pages, I think I will also add a bit more detail to those to explain things further.

Thank you David. As you have seen, actual pages do not contain a lot of informations about this "mystery". Just something like "Beginning that day, Shidar began to have problems" (Shidar page). I think I'm not the only one to wait impatiently for this update. :)

I've expanded the info on the Ruins of Shidar page. I combined notes from a few different sources, so it's a little unorganized and I will need to rewrite some of it, but I hate making you wait. So, check out what's there and I'll clean it up more later. Hope it sheds some light on your questions.

After some researches, I succeded in finding the location of your update. Because it's well hidden in the deep darkness of the Khoras site. In fact I have found it thanks to the "search page", because the standard Shidar Ruins page is the old one. Perhaps you wanted to keep it hidden until it will have been rewritten. (gosh! is it english?)

Anyway, it's a great update, very interesting. Thank you Dave!
