The Thullian Empire
"The Thullian Empire of old is the great giver of
gifts. All that we have today: our lands, our magic, our history, our sorrow is of
Thullian origin. Now, all that remains of this once great empire is crumbling stones, half
forgotten myths and the wounded sky.
- Zevrin Esair, Rukemian Imperial Historian.

The Thullian Empire was the vast, political juggernaut which dominated the eastern half of Ithria in the centuries preceding the Sundering and the Great War. It controlled a vast amount of territory, some eight million square kilometers, ranging from the icy mountains in the far north to the tropical southlands.
The Thullian Empire has a long and varied history. Refer to The Age Of Thull.
Ruled by an emperor with absolute authority. The thousands involved with government positions work to carry out his wishes. His word is law.
The Thullian Empire has often been painted as a brutal tyrannical military state that encouraged slavery, torture and public execution. While some of this is true, the citizens of the Thullian Empire enjoyed a relatively safe nation with fair laws applied equally to all. Non-citizens were treated somewhat more callously.
While not as well trained or well equipped as the Traxxian soldiers, the Thullian Empire military did have the advantage of sheer numbers. The Empire tended to fight its battle with legions of average troops in addition to conscripts of untrained "green" soldiers.
Due to the Assembly and the Mage Lords, the Thullian Empire enjoyed vast magical power and a large population of sorcerers. Magic made the Empire virtually unbeatable.
A large and varied economy that encompassed the goods and services of diverse regions throughout the realm. The fact that the Empire covered so much territory, and yet utilized the same currency, same taxes and same trading laws helped form a unified, coherent and stable economy which thrived for centuries. Goods could easily be transported great distances because of the many high quality roads which connected all points of the empire.
Thullians were no for a certain arrogance and believed themselves to be living in a land of civility and culture amongst a world of lesser cultures.
