This stout shield is a single circular piece of a very dense grey metal. The face of the shield is painted such that the upper half is a blue sky and the lower half is a green field.
This shield was carried for several hundred years by the elven lord Bretham during the Age of Rebirth. He reportedly discovered this ancient item on an adventure on a distant continent. It served him well through many adventures. When he retired, he gave it to his grandson who carried it until his untimely death in the Barakose Swamp. The shield was last seen in the hands of a saurian warrior. It's current whereabouts are unknown.
If this shield is worn or carried, the wielder is completely unharmed and unaffected by any form of meteorological or weather related phenomena. This includes magical effects that mimic weather. Hence, the wielder would be untouched by rain, wind, hail, lightning, hypothermia, frostbite, sunburns, etc. The shield maintains an envelope of warm and comfortable air about the shield. This envelope can be overpowered by extreme and sudden temperature variations. A fiery explosion, for instance, would burn the shield bearer and a magical blast of cold would freeze him. Although in either case the shield would lessen the effect somewhat. Electricity, such as a lightning bolt, would not harm the shield bearer.
