The kittersal is prized as a pet among nobility and spellcasters. There are several reasons for this. First of all, the kittersal is a beautiful animal with a friendly disposition. It makes a wonderful, loving pet and, because of its high intelligence, can be trained. Second, the kittersal is considered something of a status symbol. Because they are rare and expensive to obtain, it is seen as a sign of wealth and/or power to possess a kittersal.
Finally, the kittersal is known to have a unique purr which is very soothing and pleasing to the ear. It is rumored that the purring of the kittersal actually helps focus the mind and can aid a wizard in meditation and mental discipline. No conclusive studies of been done to verify the accuracy of this phenomenon, but many wizards claim this to be true.
