Okay, I was just wondering, about the member levels, like, Junior Member, et cetera. I know what all levels there are I think, but what is the order, and where do you go from one to the other?
He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster. And if you gaze long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you.

Spence

I think it has to do with how many posts you have.  But i could be wrong...

tanis

Yeah, I've already figured out some of the roll-over places.

Yes, it's based on how many posts you've made. Here's the list of membership levels

No of Posts - Membership Level

0 - New Member
1 - Contributing Member
10 - Junior Member
20 - Full Member
50 - Greater Member
75 - Senior Member
100 - Hero Member
150 - Forum Master

I thought about making it something like squire, knight, knight commander, etc. but then decided that was too cheesy. So, I went with something more simple. If anyone has suggestions for improvement on this list of membership levels, let me know.

I created the contributing member level and gave it a requirement of one post just to encourage people to post, at least once. We do have "lurkers" on the list who haven't posted yet, but that's ok. I don't like the "lurker" label. Sounds negative somehow. so I just call them "new members" in hopes that they'll contribute a post one day. :)

     Parfait! C'est Magnifique.

Post Scriptum: How do you like my limited 10 years of French. ;)
P.P.S. Sorry, that was supposed to be directed at Delbareth.

C'est tres bien! Je parle Francaise, (but just a tiny bit). :)

tanis

C'est cool, mais c'est naturel. Je ne sais pas 'slang' (?) en francais.

Delbareth

What a surprise! French speakers!!!
C'est agréable à lire sur un forum américain!
And Tanis, you're "only" 16 but you have studied French for 10 years? Gosh!

Sometimes parents do some quirky things like that.  But it's always good to know a second language....i think i'm gonna have to try to learn Spanish just because of how frequently it's spoken where i live.

I had to take french every year for the past ten years because of my school.

Oh, and Delbareth, I'm not positive, but I think you said It's agreable or enjoyable to read on an american forum.???

Delbareth

Ok
And you're not far :
It's pleasant to read THAT on an american forum. And "that" refers to sentences in French.  8)

But I recognize it's very subtle...  ;D

All right! Now I have proof that high school french isn't entirely pointless. I can at least read and write in french. Still probably would have trouble speaking it well.

No, agreable has roughly the same meaning in English as in French, *God how I love the Normans*, I was just using a different synonym than the accepted one. I remember now. ;D :D ;D
