Ruins

Khoras has seen great nations rise and fall. Wars and battles have scarred the lands and the empty shells of long-dead civilizations lie scattered across the realms. Ruins can be found in almost every region in varying states of decay.

Not every site of ruins is worthy of note. Many cities are built upon the ruins of previous cities. Those ruins merge with the modern city and lose their identity. Likewise, there are ruins that are all but completely destroyed. Little of the original structure remains and all that is left is a grassy field of a few scattered stones. 

What concerns us are those ruins which lie between these two extremes. There are those sites that are ancient and crumbling, but they are large and enough of the structure is standing that each has a distinct look and can be identified. In many cases, enough nooks and crannies exist for creature lairs, buried treasure and hidden secrets.
